Hello everyone, as you already know, we are delighted to inform you that we have a guest in our midst today.
Her name is Esther. Esther, you’re most welcome to today’s edition of our very Nail growth stories.
So You’ll be telling us everything about your nail growth, starting from the motivation to the challenges and then to your nail care routine.
Can you please tell us your name, your country, and your profession?
My names are Adebayo Oluwabunmi Esther. I’m from Nigeria and a mass communicator.
Could you please tell us what motivated you towards growing your nails? A short story won’t be a bad ideal.
Well, nothing personal, I must say if you ask me. I just thought about the unnecessary headache that comes with fixing acrylics.
So I decided within myself that instead of disturbing myself fixing nails every here and there, why can’t I keep it myself?
And most importantly, nurture it the way I deemed fit? These were what went through my mind.
And ever since I’ve had them on, I’ve been getting compliments like it’s my birthright.
Of cause that’s one of the benefits, you get when you keep natural nails, so I wasn’t that surprised.
Ma, could you please tell us how long you’ve been growing your nails?
I’ve had my nails on for like 8yrs now. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t mean to say I have any 8years old nails on me.
That’s because when one breaks, I trim the others so that they will be of equal length and the growth process continues afterward.
Ma, what are some of the natural supplements or ingredients you’ve been using to grow your nails?
I have never used ingredients or supplements to enhance my nail growth.
Although I heard Shea butter or coconut oil are good for nails, I’ve never tried them out.
If you’re into growing nails, then yes you must have passed through one challenge or the other.
For example, doing laundries was a bit difficult for me at first, but as times goes by, I figure a way out.
How where you able to face those challenges, ma?
Like I said earlier, I figured a way out to do my laundries. What I do is to tuck my nails into my clothes like I’m making a fist so that I won’t injure myself in the process.
Ma, what advice do you have for those passing through similar challenges? and those coming up?
Truth be told, growing and keeping nails aren’t for kids. If you’re not ready for it, then don’t.
At first, things might get a bit tough, but once you’ve mastered the hacks to functioning with them, you’ll be glad about the result.
Ma, can you tell us your nail care routine? What you do to your nails when you woke up?
Nothing special, just the usual cleaning. I do this every minute. Not because they do get dirty every minute, I just feel like doing so.
And once they’ve overgrown, I trim them to a better size and shape that fits – Squared oval.
On nail discrimination, what do you have to say ma?
Know this; people only hate on something simply because they can’t afford it. So it is with growing nails.
Over the years, I’ve had several critics about my nails. Somewhere of the opinion that as a Christian, it is ungodly to keep nails.
But you know what? I don’t give a flying f##k about what they think. I just do that which is best for me. In as much as it gives me joy, I’m okay.
Final Note: Do what you think is best for you regardless of what society is saying about it.
If growing nails has always been your dream, go after it. I hope my nail growth stories has motivated you to keep up with the nail game?. Cheers.
