- Don’t trim or cut them : No matter how tempting it may seem, never you cut or trim your cuticle.
Trimming them is like breaking the seal of protection which will further open doors to a host of other infection. I’m sure you wouldn’t want that, do you?
- Push rather than trim : The best way to care for your cuticle is to push them back a little bit.
You can push them back either with orange stick or cuticle pusher and it should be done just after you’ve taking a shower.
Also, don’t forget to apply little oil on them before you push. Failure to do so may fracture the delicate skin of your cuticle and create more harm than good.
2. Moisturize more
Moisturizing your nails and the skin of your cuticle is undoubtedly one of the best way to keep your nails healthy.
So when is the best time to moisturized my nails?
Always, at least 3 – 4 times a day. Keeping your nails and surrounding skin moisturized always helps to prevent your cuticle from getting dried unnecessary.
When your cuticle are excessively dry, they may tear at every slightest opportunity and when this happens, the result can be devastating.

Any essential oil will do the work. To moisturize, take some little quantity of that oil lets say coconut oil and apply them on your nails.

Cutting them across will prevent you from getting ingrown nails which can be very painful.

In as much as we can’t do with water, your nails shouldn’t spend the whole day in them.
So if you don’t want your nails to go brittle every now and then, you should try as much as possible to limit the way you use them.
One of the way you can adopt to limit exposing your hands to water is to wear gloves.
Wearing gloves we not only protect your hands from becoming brittle, it will also save you from the aftermath as a resulting of using harsh chemicals.
8. Avoid polish remover
Although, not all polish remover are bad for the health of your nails, you really should avoid those ones that contains acetone.
This acetone base Polish remover, when use often strips your nails off its natural moisture and may cause them to peel, brittle or break.
Instead, you should consider using acetate-based nail polish remover. This remover is less harmful compare to acetone base remover.

I know you wont agree with me on this but hey, I’m not asking you to stop using nail Polish completely. All I’m saying is that you should limit the way you wear them.
There’s a rule to wear nail polishes. It’s called the 5 days in, 5 days off rule. What this means is, you wear them for 5 days then take them after 5 days.
During this period, you’re giving your nails the room for them to breath which in turn gives room for healthy nails.

But you know what? Putting tight fitted shoe shouldn’t be an option anymore especially now that you know it’s bad for the health of your toenails.
The reason is because tight shoes are the leading cause if onychomycosis – nail fungus.
Give your toe nails some space, they need to breath just like you so the next time you go out to get some pairs for yourself, buy the ones that fits.
2. Wear quality socks
Investing in quality socks made of 100% wool is another thing you should consider. You need to put on socks that can absorb those sweats.
Because a sweaty toe if not properly pampered with socks that can absorbed those sweats can create room for infection.
Remember, microorganism loves places that are warm, dark and a bit moist. Don’t give them the lead to ruin the health of your toe nails.
3. Avoid dirty socks
It’s really not enough to wear socks, one thing that you must do is to avoid wearing socks that are dirty.
